My name is Sean Keane (O’Kahan in Gaelic), and after serving 31 years with the U.S. Army Special Operations and Special Forces, I made the decision to retire and step into a new chapter—one rooted in culture, craftsmanship, and family. That chapter is O’Kahan Agave, my vision for a mezcal brand that honors both tradition and transformation.
Transitioning from military life to the world of artisanal spirits may seem like a leap, but for me, mezcal represents everything I’ve always valued: discipline, integrity, and a deep respect for process. After years of soul-searching and recalibrating what it means to build something with purpose, I discovered that mezcal isn’t just a drink—it’s a living reflection of land, labor, and legacy.

O’Kahan Agave is more than a brand—it’s a journey. One that began with curiosity and quickly evolved into a mission. My goal is to create small-batch mezcal that stays true to its ancestral roots while bringing something new to the table. Each bottle we produce will reflect a commitment to transparency, quality, and ethical sourcing, rooted in the sacred agave traditions of Oaxaca and beyond.
As a veteran, I bring with me a relentless work ethic, a global perspective, and a belief in supporting communities. As a father and husband, I aim to build something my family can be proud of. Follow me as I learn from master mezcaleros, navigate the regulatory labyrinth of mezcal production, and bring O’Kahan Agave to life—one sip, one story, and one step at a time.
This isn’t just about mezcal. It’s about building something with heart. Mezcal es… La Vida!
